If you are interested in developing a professional training practice, but do not have a foundation upon which you can build it, perhaps LEOSA Trainers, Inc.(LTI) can help you. You might be asking “why LTI”? Here are just a few good reasons.
- LTI has a lot of experience. Our instructors have taught thousands of people from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Florida how to responsibly carry and use lethal force.
- LTI specializes in license to carry training. This enables LTI to be very, very good at what we do.
- LTI uses high value, content rich materials so training is to our high standards which exceed the training required by the state.
- Every LTI student also receives a copy of the book, Florida Guide For Armed Citizens, a $39.95 value.
- Our students receive excellent training so we are a greater training value than the low price trainers. Too often people learn after they shoot someone that low price training and low cost training are not interchangeable terms.
- Sometimes you need someone to ask for help with a question, resolve an issue, bounce an idea, or any number of other reasons why you might need some assistance. We do that.
- LTI instructors run their own training business so you control how much you want to work and how much money you want to earn.
- You want a professional identity bigger than “Bob’s Pretty Good Training.”

About becoming an LTI instructor - the next step:
LTI enters into a written instructor’s agreement with each instructor. The agreement explains our mutual responsibilities to each other. Providing we are interested in each other, I will send the agreement to you so you can review it and ask any questions, before we finalize plans for you to attend training.
LTI instructor training sessions intense and are limited to a maximum of 12 instructor candidates so everyone is given the individual attention they need.
LTI Instructor Scholarship Program
For people who believe they would make a good firearms instructor, I have created a scholarship program for those who are willing to invest in themselves with me.
To earn a full tuition scholarship, an individual would need to:
1) compile a list of 50 people who they will train,
2) be prepared to purchase from LTI, 24 sets of student materials (a book the Florida Guide For Armed Citizens a $39.95 value and a Course Application with a student Course Completion Certificate – at the reduced Instructor cost plus shipping) at the time of certification so you can immediately schedule 2 or 3 classes, and
3) have a laptop PC.
I will invest in training people who are willing to invest in them self.
Instructor training is conducted over a long weekend and will typically begin on a Friday afternoon and end on Sunday afternoon. The training is a combination of class time and range work, so you will need to bring a pistol, and a revolver (no .22’s and no 500 S&W please). I would prefer that you bring what would be a typical carry caliber, 9mm, .40 S&W, 45ACP, 38 Special, 357 Magnum. You will need a box (50 rounds) of ammunition for your pistol and one box (50 rounds) of ammunition for the revolver. All ammunition must be commercially manufactured, no hand loaded ammunition is allowed. LTI will pay any range fees and provide the targets.
Please bring a laptop (PC not Apple) along to the class. A PowerPoint presentation is used for training with videos, and it is helpful to get everything up and running properly on your computer.
If you have any questions, or would like to start the Instructor Certification process, please call Gene German, LTI President at 612.388.2403.
